Uncomfortable conversationsDesign | Photography | Class Project
Visit Project Website here This project is a chance for the public to engage in the uncomfortable topics of sexual assault and rape. It is too often that people are raped or sexually assaulted. The chances of this happening to a woman is greater than a man, but number of men being raped or assaulted is high as well. Both rape and sexual assault should not be a factor in anyone’s life. Imagine if you can, that rape or sexual assault never happened again. Now image what he consequences of that could mean. One would be that we could lose the need to use those words in the human language ever again. Suicide rates would go down. Mental health issues would decrease. Child sexual abuse would end. The benefits of no longer having sexual assault or rape feels like a dream that may never come true. This is all the more reason we should make this dream a reality. To prove this, as part of this project, advertisements were placed all across a campus, with all ties to the advertisement being removed, leaving only the images. Within hours almost all of the posters had been removed. What does this say about the images? The reaction created when people see the images alone without the accompaniment of the clothing line name or big name corporation shows that the images offends people. Why then are we allowing the images to flood our life and influence our children? WISH CENSUSArt Director | Designer | Photographer | Class Project
What if you were filling out a census of things that actually mattered to you? Rather than names, birth dates, jobs, and email addresses, what if someone asked you what your deepest fear was? Your craziest wish for the future? Your needs for the day? What would you tell them? Students have an enormous amount of stress and struggles that they have to deal with in life. Wish Census began as an outlet for students to relieve some of that stress and have someway to share what they are dealing with. But Wish Census has grown way beyond that. Students are not the only people with wishes, fears, and needs. Wish Census is not only a tool for gathering information, it is a platform for connection. We all have a shared human experience. Our individual wishes, fears, and needs, weird as they may be, make us incredibly unique. But it is our shared experience of wishing, fearing, and needing that connects us together. And perhaps, in sharing your own wishes, fears, and needs here, you might find that someone else in the world is going through the same things that you are. You are not going through this alone. This is the Wish Census. Here, you can share what is on your mind. Tell us what really matters the most to you. Whether it’s your deepest fear, what you need for a deadline next week, or even the fact that you really could use a sandwich right now. This is the place where people can come together to share and be heard and to gather around the things in our lives that make us who we are. Be vulnerable without being exposed. Come share with us. We wish you would. We need you to. We fear you won’t. Make us think differently. The Census Takers |

mIDWEST Quality WholesaleArt Director | Designer | Photographer | Branding The company Fareway Stores was looking for graphic designers to help them with their new venture company Midwest Quality Wholesale (MQW). Fareway Stores are operating in the United States, primarily in Iowa. Our university was asked by Fareway to develop a set of materials to market their new venture company. For them we designed a brand and identity system that would allow them to communicate their values to customers who were new to Fareway and MQW, as well as to communicate to old customers of Fareway. I was in charge of being the main contact with the Fareway representatives that worked with us on the project, as well as directing the teams to complete materials on time and in a professional manner. I scheduled all the meetings and presentations. The brand of MQW was released by the Fareway Company on January 1st 2015. The company is involved in selling Spartan Cleaning products around the Midwest area. They plan on broadening their lines as well as marketing their brand to a wider demographic in the future by engaging their brand in the community and in social engagements.
